Vapes are a revolutionary device. In this, they did not just change how you intake your nicotine but have also been subject to constant innovation. This constant innovation has kept vapes and e-cigarettes from becoming a saturated entity, like its biggest competitor, cigarettes.

This innovation has led to the development of great modern instruments in the field such as sub ohm tanks, nicotine salt e liquids, RDTAs, cotton wicks and so on. However, some of the more technical innovations in the vaping world tend to get ignored. The Temperature Control Feature in Vapes is one of these technical features.

What is Temperature Control?

As easily explainable as it sounds, “temperature control” is not just a mere control over the temperature of a mod. Instead, the term has more to do with just the coil in the vape kit. So, the explanation of the technology revolves around the explanation of the role of coils in the vaping process. So, here it goes.

Coils make contact with the power supply (batteries) in the vapes when you press the trigger. This heats up the coils. Coils then come in contact with e-liquid and heat it. Once heated, the e-liquid evaporates and produces those dense clouds that every vaper loves. When we talk about temperature control, we mean the temperature on the coils is controlled. Without a temperature control feature, the coil will eventually get very hot and produce a harsh dry hit. However, when the temperature control is enabled, it will heat up within certain parameters and not exceed them.

The Benefits of Having Temperature Control

Having the ability to control the temperature gives you great control over your vaping experience. As a matter of fact, it allows you much more flexibility in your vaping than was previously available. Here are a few of the benefits, other than greater control that this temperature control grants you:

No Dry Hits

Dry hits happen when the vape liquid in the tank runs out or the wick dries out. It happens mostly as a consequence of a cooling element, which drastically raises the temperature. In absence of any e-liquid with such high temperature, you begin to get just smoke instead of vapor, which is very harsh on your throat. With temperature control enabled, when the liquid runs out, instead of the coil getting very hot, the connection is cut off and you just get less and less vapor instead of dry hits.

Longer Coil Life

So, when the coil does not get excessively heated, the coil maintains its health. This keeps it running longer and gives you more puffs before it completely burns out.

Health

When it comes to health, temperature control is truly a blessing. It not only keeps the device from over-heating by cutting off connections, it also makes sure that you are not exposed to toxic chemicals that are produced as a result of burning wicking material. Formaldehyde is one toxic material that is produced when you get dry hits from wick burning.
