The Box Mods

The box mod got its name simply because it's shaped like a box. This mod is best for someone who is looking for an extensive customization for his/her vaping device. The reason being that the user can use different types of batteries, atomizers, and tanks if he is using a box mod. The box mod does not hold liquids itself, instead, it has detachable atomizers that hold the liquid; these atomizers can be changed according to the user’s preference. Moreover, the latest sub-ohm atomizers can be used in the box mods; these atomizers help users in experiencing better flavor intensity and better smoke clouds.

The main reason why box mods are so famous is simply a large number of features that it offers. The user can control the temperature and variate the wattage in this mod. The LED screen and a smart microchip which it has, is a source of several other features in the vaping device. Other features that it offers are increased battery life, flavor intensity controller, quicker charging, charging without disassembling the device and the ability that it provides to users to build their own mods according to their own preferences.

The Mechanical Mods

The mechanical mods or unregulated mods differ significantly from the box mods. The most prominent difference between the two is power output. This mod does not allow the user to control the wattage, so when the device has a higher charge, it would work at the higher wattage and when it is on low charge, it would work on low wattage. The wattage, for example, might fall from 80W to 65W to 40W to 29W and so on as the device is getting discharged. This is the primary reason why this mod is not recommended for beginners because the high and unregulated wattage output can make things extremely dangerous for the device as well as the user.

This mod lacks a lot in safety features too. Mechanical mods, unlike box mods, do not have any chips installed in it, instead, it just has some open wires connecting the battery to the on/off button. It does not also have any of the other fancy features like temperature control, flavor intensity control and LED screen. However, many people prefer mechanical mods over any other mods because of the rich mechanized experience with unregulated power. These are very easy to use, operate, repair and are much less expensive than box mods.
